Archives Coordinator Report

Mother broke her arm while I was at the Pickwick 1st quarterly assembly. So I cancelled all weekend events.
The Harragot group invited me to share and display traveling archives. About 25 people seemingly enjoyed archives presentation.
On March 4th Dist. 9 had an Archives workshop. Area 64 traveling archives had 4 tables. Dist 9 had 2 tables and Tom N had 5 tables. Tom did his usual excellent job of presenting Washingtonian and Oxford and AA history. 41 People attended, Dist. 1, 6, 9, 12, 14, 50 and 51, Were in attendance representing 28 groups and 1 Ala-non. The event went from 1:30PM to 4:30PM. Our Archivist David L put together 50 packages of Achievable information. The event is still being talked about throughout the district.
I was given a book, Titled Platform Echoes, By John Gouch co-founder of the Washingtonian movement approximately 1830. The Book was published in 1886.
Again it's time to ask all groups in Area 64 for $2.00 a quarter or $8.00 a year to help make us self supporting.
Hopefully I will have more to report in Gatlinburg 2nd quarter.

Yours, Love and Service
Charles M.

District 12 Murfreesboro Group Archivist

I had the pleasure of attending my first Archives workshop in Crossville TN with the 9th district. I would like to thank Tom N. and Charlie M. for a great presentation and a very impressive display. Also would like to thank David L. for the presentation packet he put together. Most of all, thank you District 9 for hosting the workshop.
I have seen several visitors visit the Archives this quarter and hope to see more in the future. I believe Area 64 Archives has a lot to offer the members of A.A.. I wish more members would take the time to visit the archives and see what our past has to offer the future of our program. Past members have put a lot into our Archives to preserve our growth and memories and we can all do our part to continue this task.
I am glad to say the cassette cases that were requested have been found. 300 cases were ordered and are enroute at this time. I hope to have the library sorted soon, and then I can start an accurate updated inventory listing.
Thank you for giving me the privilege to be apart of Area 64 Archives. I have really enjoyed working to help preserve our past and being a part of Alcoholics Anonymous. This service has made feel more a part of and involved in A.A. than ever before. I could never explain what this has done for my sobriety.
Thank You,
Jeff G.
