Introduction
The Responsibility of the Trusted Archives Chairperson.
There are many Priceless items in your Area 64 Archives.
Should we entrust our Past with just any well intentioned AA?
Who is Responsible
I’m DRY Let Me Help
Topics of Discussion
This is to allow the Fellowship to Realize and Understand the importance of Securing and limiting access to Area 64 Archives without the Properly Trained Chairperson.
A Large portion of the Archives are Irreplaceable.
There are many reasons for Trained Person’s who are Responsible not just Sober
Well Intentioned AA’s
Lets get some Volunteers to help us with Area 64 Archives
Saturday morning,Six people show up with really good intentions.
1:Lost box of Tee Shirts, everybody help us find them.
2:Lady goes thru every drawer to no avail. She gets hot so she turns down the Air Conditioning, opens the door.
AA’s at Work
3:Oh Wow!! This is really neat. “Look it’s a First Edition Big Book signed by Bill Wilson.
4:Picks book up and drops it tearing the front cover. Oh My God I’m So Sorry.
5:To Hell with Not Smoking, I’m Sober and a little smoke isn’t going to hurt anything in this Archives Building.
6:Mr. Chairperson, I noticed the very rare recordings from the early days of AA, Do you mind if I borrow them and record them at my home?
I know and Trust you Yes you can.
I’m Doing My Part !
Volunteer takes Recordings and is right in the middle of Recording when he has a severe Heart Attack and dies.
Meanwhile Chairperson gets Drunk and no longer associates himself with AA.
What happens to the Priceless Recordings? AA’s Loss
Real Life
All of this is Hypothetical but very possible. Food for Thought

What kind of Guidelines should we use to Protect Area 64 Archives?
Who should be Responsible to keep well meaning AA’s from rummaging thru Precious Documents and Books. Etc.
A Couple of Tidbits
It is important to keep the Archives at a certain Temperature as well as control the Humidity and Sunlight, Florescent Lights. Etc.
Releasing any materials from the Archives should be out on Loan with documents providing information that will help to insure it’s return.
Next Steps
Any Precious Books or Documents should be under Lock & Key, not readily available to handle by any well intentioned AA.
Thermostat should be controlled only by those who understand the importance of keeping the environment at a controlled temperature.
Door Open Means Dust
What is in Area 64 Archives Anyway?
I don’t know do you? Maybe the Chairperson knows.
Well the Last Chairperson has gone to the Big meeting in the Sky.
The New Chairperson will have to re-invent the Wheel.
My Point is This, It is essential that we keep Proper records of our Contents at Area 64 Archives.
How and when can this be Done?
